FAQs

Is this a Vacation Bible School?

We do not consider this a VBS or a traditional church camp. We will be delving into themes found in Scripture, but the workshops will not be creating crafts of Bible stories. Instead, we will be relying on our art educators to teach art skills and encouraging the kids to create artwork that reflects their creativity and interpretation of the thematic elements of the day.

Does my family need to be Christians to attend?

We do not require anyone to be a Christian in order to attend. This camp is for all families that are looking for an enriching arts camp for their child(ren) to gain a deeper understanding of different art techniques and artists. Everyday, we will be discussing and sharing Scripture, Christian themes, and the Gospel.

What is included in the camp cost?

We have hired local educators to provide a professional level of art education. This, along with all of the materials needed for the art to be created is the main bulk of the cost for the week. The last day there will be a gallery opening for the whole community to attend. This will go beyond an art show, but have all of the markings of an opening to fully highlight the hard work of the kids from the week while being a community event. We will have refreshments, live music, and elevated art displays.

My child is disabled. Is your camp equipped for my child?

All kids are welcome to be a part of Camp:CREATE! We ask that you reach out to alexis@verge.church so that we may learn of your child’s specific needs and what we need to provide the best environment for them to learn in and experience all that the week has to offer!

Do I need to stay with my child for the entirety of the camp?

It is not required that you stay. We will have a secure check-in process, as well as security measures in place to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved. All volunteers and workers are required to provide a Pennsylvania-certified background check. We also know leaving your child can be hard. Parents are welcome to stay, but we ask that you allow our educators and workshop assistants to lead so that we can provide the best experience for all.
